MASTER PROGRAM OF LINGUISTICS

FACULTY OF CULTURAL SCIENCE GADJAH MADA UNIVERSITY

 

Alumni of Master Program of Linguistics, Faculty of Cultural Science Gadjah Mada University are expected to acquire three aspects of Expected Learning Outcome as follows:

Attitude

  1. Piety to God Almighty
  2. Have good morals, ethics and personality in completing their duties
  3. Able to work together and have high social sensitivity and concern for the community and its environment
  4. Respect the diversity of cultures, views, beliefs, and religions as well as the original opinions/findings of others

Knowledge

  1. Students are able to produce a description of the structural aspects of language.
  2. Students are able to critically analyze language from one of the perspectives: social linguistics, descriptive linguistics, and translation to produce publications (articles and theses) in both Indonesian and English languages
  3. Students are able to analyze language characteristics based on territory
  4. Students are able to analyze language by utilizing supporting sciences according to their expertise interests.

Skills

  1. Students are able to analyze language in relation to communication functions and socio-cultural practices
  2. Students are able to apply one of the language research methods (descriptive linguistics, social, or translation) to produce a research proposal
